Ilse's Stocking (see note)
Event Note
Despite their poverty and own desperate conditions, relatives in Stanislau Poland, the Raubvogels, send food and clothes to the Mandels in the Soviet Union. A pair of stockings (actually long heavy socks) came full with grain or rice. Ilse wore these stockings for years. Finy sewed and patched them over and over. Ilse kept one and is shown in the pictures. Notices the patches, sewing, and stains.
